We're not shy about our love for Urban Decay beauty products. Their setting sprays, mascaras, and cult-classic Naked eyeshadow palettes are permanent staples in our makeup collection, and can simply be described in one word: amazing. Now the brand is giving us one more reason to love them with the launch of The Ultraviolet Edge, a global charity initiative to empower women to embrace what makes them unique. As part of the program, Urban Decay is recognising powerful and admirable women who inspire us to push boundaries everyday. Appropriately, trendsetter and ultimate cool chick Gwen Stefani was chosen as the face of the initiative.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds of the limited-edition Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($20) in Enigma will fund women’s rights organisations around the world. For the first donation, Urban Decay partnered with the Women’s Global Empowerment Fund to offer women in post-war Uganda microloans, education, and leadership. Over the next five years, the brand plans to contribute $3 million to support causes that encourage women.
