Estée Lauder’s much coveted new brand The Estée Edit has finally launched in the UK. Inspired by Lauder’s famous quote “Beauty is an attitude,” the company called on two über-famous faces, Kendall Jenner and Irene Kim, to guest-edit the new collection. The duo has worked with Lauder to create a line of 82 products (72 makeup and 10 skincare), all housed in bold silver and cobalt packaging.
So aside from the brand’s roots and famous connections, what’s all the fuss about? Well, team Byrdie hasn’t been able to make our way through every product, but we have tried some that are now firmly ensconced in our makeup bags. Keep scrolling to find out which products made the cut.
This is some serious strobing right here. It’s a sort of mousse-like thick texture when pumped onto the hand, and using a brush or fingertips, this gives high points of the face an impressive sheen. It makes even the most dull, tired skin look glowy and alive.
At first we were skeptical of this big crayon; when filling in brows, you want to mimic the delicate hairs to subtly create fullness. Well, forget that because this crayon is magic—one sweep and your brows are filled in, defined and full. It’s quick and effective: how all day-to-day makeup products should be.
Okay, so don’t get attached to that splash of gold; one sweep and it’s gone. But what’s left is the perfect hue of blusher (we tried First Love, a lovely peachy bronze shade) that has just the right level of pigment to impart colour without the need for serious blending skills.
We like a mascara that is quick and easy, so when we saw this double-ended tube, we weren’t sure we had the time. But one quick swipe with the comb lifts your lashes, and the nice and small one perfectly tackles the lower ones. You then follow with the fatter brush to add serious volume. I’ve never had so many compliments on my lashes. Totally worth the extra seconds.
