Stéphanie Sokolinski, known as SoKo, has been causing a stir on red carpets this year. A French-born singer-songwriter, musician and actress, she most recently played the lead in The Dancer opposite Lily-Rose Depp. So what is it that attracts us to this 30-year-old rising star? Besides her multiple talents, it has to be the unique way she approaches beauty. It's refreshing to see an actress on the red carpet pushing the boundaries of a smoky eye or jawline-skimming haircut. Whether it's a burnt orange eye or a standout topknot, SoKo knows how to throw the beauty rule book out the window. Trust us, when it comes to red carpet beauty, this star is gloriously different. Keep scrolling for the 10 times SoKo broke the beauty rules and won…
Just three short years ago, SoKo had long hair. (Well, just because you break some of the rules doesn't mean you can't follow the trends.) Nowadays she rocks a very on-trend short haircut. What hasn't changed is her penchant for a red eye shadow—you'll see.
We're obsessed with this coffee lip colour. Re-create the look with Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in Underground (£10).
Front row at the A/W 15 Chanel show and SoKo's hair is super white blonde. Want to go that bright? Keep it free from any yellow tones with the Bleach London White Toner Kit (£7).

SoKo is not afraid to try a tricky trend like this super-short micro-fringe.
At Cannes earlier this year, SoKo had that IDGAF vibe. Mussed-up hair and a wash of taupe shadow under her eyes gives her a romantic goth vibe. Try MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Omega (£13).
Embracing her natural curls, her short hair is scrunch dried. Get the look by working Umberto Giannini Curl Friends Create a Curl Scrunching Jelly (£5) through your hair.

Another grungy, wet look style from SoKo during Cannes. But it's that rust coloured eye shadow that's caught our eye. Try Make Up For Ever Artistic Eyeshadow in Orange (£13).
We told you SoKo loves a red eye. To get the look use Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Daemon (£17), work the colour under the lower lashline from about a third of the way along and wing it out and up before blending the shadow along the upper lashline. Leave the inner corner of the eyes free from the red shadow to keep them looking bright and open.

This time SoKo opts for a warm fuchsia-hued eye shadow that brings out the amber colour in her eyes. We love.
And it's not just us, Who What Wear predicts SoKo will be next season's big style icon.
