The life of a jet-setting supermodel may seem like the ultimate dream (hello, gorgeous clothes and exotic locales), but many of these multitasking beauties somehow find time to fit in surprising side jobs. Nowadays, it seems like everyone has a "slash" (model/actress, actress/singer, and so on), so we set out to find the most interesting, non-model-y gigs of some of our favourite catwalkers that go beyond the standard model/actress label.
Keep reading to see who made our list!
The seriously gorgeous model has a lot of gigs outside of striking poses for the likes of Vogue and Glamour; she designed a capsule collection with DiNeila Brazil in 2011 and appeared in her husband John Legend's recent All of Me music video (she also appeared in his 2006 video for Stereo, where they first met). She's also passionate about food (as anyone can tell from her Instagram) and has had two specials on the Cooking Channel, in addition to being a judge on the MTV cooking competition Snack Off.
If gluten-free, dairy-free, wheat-free cookies also sound fun-free, Miss Kloss may convince you to rethink your stance. She collaborated with Momofuku to create Karlie's Kookies, described as "fashionably wholesome" treats. Even better, a portion of profits from the cookies goes to charity to help provide school meals to children around the world. Oh, and she also completed a course at Harvard Business School—no biggie.
Honestly, we're a little surprised it's taken supermodel/talk show host/ANTM judge/queen of smizing so long to come out with her own cosmetics line. Her collection of nine products (including eyeliner, lipstick, and highlighter) debuts November 7 on HSN. You can read our exclusive interview with her here.
The Australian beauty actually became a qualified holistic health practitioner in order to create her certified organic line of skincare and body products, Kora Organics.
Style muse and model Alexa Chung will be debuting a line of 20 pieces in collaboration with AG Denim in January. She also collaborated with British beauty brand Eyeko to create a line of liquid liners and mascara, wrote an autobiography, It, and is a contributor to British Vogue.
[Insert obligatory reference to Delevingne's bold brows here.] Now that we've got that out of the way, we can move onto the model's other pastimes: singing and playing the drums, appearing as a DJ in the Grand Theft Auto V video game, and starring in films like Anna Karenina and the not-yet-released Paper Towns (okay, so we included one model/actress).
Supermodel (and wife to David Bowie) is also the founder and CEO of Iman Cosmetics, Skincare, and Fragrances, a line designed specifically for women of color. She also designs a clothing and accessories collection, Iman Global Chic, that's available on HSN, along with a home décor line.
