SUNDAY, 24 SEPTEMBER: ELLIE FROM SLIP INTO STYLE
We caught up with the always fabulous Ellie from Slip into Style to learn more about her Sunday night routine. Shop it all below.
Bioderma's cult H2O Makeup Removing Solution is cult for a reason, and Ellie's a fan too. This gentle cleanser helps to remove traces of dirt and makeup in a sweep, leaving the skin fresh and clean. Ellie likes to use this as her pre-cleanse.
Next, Ellie likes to use a cleansing oil to give her skin a deeper cleanse. Re:cipe's rose cleansing oil is enriched with extracts of Damas Rose and Rosa Centifolia to gently melt away makeup, leaving the skin soft and clean.
Biologique Recherche's Lotion P50 is quite hard to buy, but if you can get your hands on it it's worth it. This liquid exfoliator helps to balance the PH of the skin while exfoliating and hydrating the skin. Expect a glowing complextion after use.
Want to brighten, calm and nourish your skin all at once? Then Ellie's next nightlies product is the serum for you. It's packed full of vitamins and perfect when your skin needs a little pick me up—so after a busy weekend.
With its high levels of Pricky Pear Extract (a plant that can survive in the Sahara desert) and blend of Vitamin E and Olive Oil, this rich cream will leave you with plump the skin and help to fend off damage done by pollution and stress.
And lastly, Ellie's secret weapon. As she sleeps with air conditioning or heating on, she likes to layer this castor oil all over her face to prevent dryness and lock in extra moisture.
Sunday, 9 September: Chloe Burcham, freelance beauty editor
Chloe Burcham, freelance beauty editor and skincare obsessive, shared with us her favourite post-holiday Sunday Nightlies…
The balmy texture of this cleanser makes it great for removing all traces of makeup, and giving your skin a facial massage too. Apply all over, emulsify with warm water and remove with a damp flannel or muslin cloth.
Formulated with Elemis’ skin-synchronizing Peptide4 and Night Scented Stock (a seed oil rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids), this creamy eye cream helps to revive tired eyes, reduce puffiness and hydrate fine lines and wrinkles.
Cooling and ultra-hydrating, this is the perfect post-holiday mask. It leaves skin feeling soothed and refreshed in just 10 minutes.
This multitasking skin savior helps to kick-start collagen production, boost radiance and leave your skin smooth, not sticky. It’s also infused with tiny golden bubbles of Immortelle Oil extract, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from environmental aggressors. Clever.
The best way to finish off a Sunday night? Light your favourite candle and dive deep into a good book. This Diptyque Tubereuse candle is a heady intoxicating scent that smells of a warm summer night.
Sunday, 24 June: Bianca, influencer and skincare obsessive
Melt away makeup with this balm before going in with a second cleanse. It is Sunday, after all.
This calming cleanser helps to hydrate and nourish your skin while removing any traces of makeup. Bartolo likes to give her skin a second cleanse with this to ensure all traces of the day are gone.
Glycolic acids are great for when your skin is in need of a supercharged boost after a late night—which is why this mask is perfect after a busy weekend. Packed full of the multi-functioning properties of glycolic acids, this cult mask is next on Bartolo's list.
This gentle serum works to smooth the skin and help target signs of fine lines with its blend of two hyaluronic acids. You'll be left with plump, refreshed skin. The dream.
Like Cleeve below, Bartolo is obsessed with her derma-roller to help trick her skin into healing itself and producing new collagen.
This award-winning cream is a firm favourite of celebrities. So much so that Tilbury made the formula secret. But trust us when we say it'll leave your skin glowy and plump.
Sunday, 17 June: Georgie Cleeve, Oskia Founder
If there's one skincare brand that appears time and time again in #Nightlies, it's Oskia. Which is why we jumped at the chance to chat with Georgie Cleeve—the brand's founder—to talk us through her Sunday night routine. Keep reading to see it.
Naturally, Cleeve's routine starts with Oskia, and this cleansing gel is the perfect way to kickstart your Sunday night routine. Infused with vitamins and pumpkin enzymes, it gently unplugs pores and dead skin cells—leaving the skin smooth and radiant.
Cleeve then double-cleanses with this cleansing concentrate to really give her skin a deep clean. This cleanser is ideal for environmentally stressed skin (hello, city life), and with its combination of copper, eucalyptus and vitamins A, C and F, it'll leave the skin feeling refreshed and calm.
Refreshing, gentle and ideal for the environmentally stressed, this clever cleansing concentrate leaves skin pollutant- and makeup-free, as well as fresh, calm and pH balanced. A potent combination of vitamins, mineral and bio-actives—including copper, eucalyptus and vitamins A, C, E and F—unite in the transparent formula, which transforms into a velvety soft foam as it lathers.
Next up, retinol. Cleeve switches between two, but she's currently loving The Ordinary's Retinol 1% for a gentle boost of vitamin A to help revitalise the skin.
Our editorial director is a huge fan of derma rolling and microneedling, and it looks like Cleeve is, too. Find out how to microneedle here.
This serum is a blend of 16 super nutrients and bio-actives to help target the signs of ageing and sun damage.
Sunday, 11 June: Emma Spedding, Who What Wear UK Deputy Editor
It's not just us Byrdie lot who have an obsession with all things skincare. Our friends over at Who What Wear UK are pretty clued up, too. Deputy editor, Emma Spedding, comes into the office on a daily basis with clear, fresh-looking skin, so naturally, we had to ask her what products she brings out on a Sunday. This is her #Nightlies edit.
Spedding starts her Sunday evening routine by taking off any traces of makeup with this buttery Elemis cleansing balm. Infused with rose and mimosa waxes, this balm leaves the skin feeling cleansed and nourished.
This remedy oil is a saviour for anyone with dry hair, as it provides instant moisture.
Slather your body in this luxurious cream enriched with sweet almond and cocoa seed. Emma uses this post-bath to really unwind.
Last, but most certainly not least, it's pyjama time. Emma loves these fuchsia ones from Olivia Von Halle. They might be pricey, but you'll feel super plush sat at home in them.
Sunday, 3 June: Charlotte Simone, Fashion Designer
If you're not familiar with Charlotte Simone and her accessories, we highly recommend you a) check out her Instagram immediately, and b) head straight to her website to shop her goodies. While naturally, we'd love to raid her wardrobe, we decided to raid her beauty cupboard instead. Here's what she uses come Sunday when she needs to chill out.
Simone loves using this gentle toning lotion to wash the day off and refresh her skin.
She then removes any excess makeup with Clinique's Take the Day Off Makeup Remover (£18). This product uses a two-way formula that loosens the grip of stubborn makeup before removing it gently.
Next up, face oil. Simone massages this luxurious black rose oil onto her skin to help nourish and regenerate her skin.
This thick face cream is Simone's go-to moisturiser. Its buttery whipped like texture leaves the skin feeling supple and soft.
This ultra-nourishing eye concentrate helps plump the under-eye area using its 360-degree Matrix Technology, giving eyes a fresh, awake look. Simone calls it her "liquid gold," and we're with her on this one.
Blistex lip balms are cult buys for a reason, and this one is no exception. With its lip-repairing properties, this balm contains jojoba oil and cocoa butter to soothe and protect your lips. Simone uses this last in her Sunday #Nightlies routine.
Sunday, 27 May: Sascha Jackson, Lead Makeup Artist for Stila UK
The first thing I noticed about Jackson when I met her was her incredible glowing skin—which is why we just had to get her on board for #Nightlies. As a pro makeup artist for Stila Cosmetics, she knows a thing or two about cultivating and maintaining a clear complexion. Well, makeup just looks better on great skin. Shop her #Nightlies edit below.
Jackson uses this buttery cleansing balm to remove any traces of dirt or makeup. Rich in pure plant oils, it leaves the skin super soft and smooth.
It wouldn't be a #Nightlies without a face mask, would it? Jackson loves this sheet mask by Masker Aide to help her unwind on a Sunday. Infused with lavender, it leaves your skin feeling soothed and de-stressed.
Clearly a fan of Trilogy, Jackson next gives her skin a much-needed boost of hydration with this Trilogy Rosehip Oil (£17) after a busy bank holiday weekend.
This calming salve is packed full of honey, propolis and royal jelly to help soothe your skin, and Jackson uses it for any dry areas all over her body. If you want to re-create your own Sunday #Nightlies, why not treat yourself to our exclusive Byrdie Beauty Box (£50), packed full of handpicked products from the Byrdie team?
