Another week, another slew of celebs killing it in the beauty department. From Lily Aldridge’s perfect smoky eye and nude lip combo to Kate Bosworth’s genius update on the half-pony, keep scrolling for all the best celebrity beauty looks you missed this week!
We think every makeup artist should save this photo and file it under “flawless”—seriously though, have a smoky eye and nude lip ever complemented each other so perfectly? Makeup artist Robert Sesnek used Laura Mercier’s Smoky Eye Palette ($95) and Eye Pencil ($24) in Stormy Grey to create a sultry smoky eye, and MAC’s Smolder ($16) in Aldridge’s waterline to add definition. For her lashes, he reached for L’Oréal’s Voluminous Mascara ($9) in Carbon Black. As for the to-die-for nude lip? That would be Tom Ford’s Lipstick ($50) in Adobe Smoke.
Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose (he’s the man responsible for Lupita Nyong’o’s stunning red carpet looks) kept things simple for Steinfeld at the Toronto International Film Festival by making the focus of her look a bold, magenta pout. "Magenta is such a perfect color to make statement for fall,” he says. “It's bold and feminine, but less serious and more unexpected than red.” The lipstick he used on Steinfeld is Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($30) in Dominant.
Speaking of magenta pouts, Chung stole the show in the front row of Edun’s S/S 15 show by pairing her bright lip with soft brows and a slick of glimmery eye shadow.
Meanwhile, at Tory Burch’s S/S 15 runway presentation, Shipka decided to go with sleek, straight strands and statement brows. “Kiernan and I decided to really focus on the skin with a beautiful glow, very little on the eyes, and a soft pop on the lips,” says Sesnek. He used Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation ($62) in #4 as a smooth base, then the brand’s Fluid Sheer ($62) #6 on the actress’ cheeks for a soft flush.
Ora pulled a look straight off Marc by Marc Jacobs’ S/S 15 runways with her punky, bunned mohawk. Paired with fluttery lashes and a matte, nude lip, Ora gave off all sorts of cool-girl vibes at the Fashion Rocks concert in Brooklyn.
“[Knightley] wanted to wear some variety of a cat-eye, so we went for a modern La Dolce Vita-type eye with a smoky violet lip,” says Kate Lee, Chanel celebrity makeup artist. She lined Knightley’s eyes with Chanel’s Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil ($29) in Noir and finished the look with a swipe of the brand’s Limited Edition Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour ($35) in L’Adorée.
Bosworth can do no wrong in the beauty department, which is why we weren’t surprised to fall in love with her updated take on the half-ponytail. Plus, matching your lipstick to your dress has never looked so good.
