First things first: It's time to keep concrete tabs of how much time you're spending in there. A clock works, but music is more fun (and caters to your breathtaking shower karaoke performances). Invest in a bluetooth shower speaker, queue up your Spotify account, and give yourself two or three songs to get 'er done.
Borrow this genius multitasking tip from Byrdie editor Deven: Lather shampoo on your roots, apply conditioner to your ends, and then rinse together. Conditioner can gunk up your roots anyway, and the rest of your hair will get all the cleansing it needs (without overdrying) when you wash it all out.
Cleansing creams get the grime out of your roots while simultaneously moisturising and conditioning your strands—basically the hair equivalent of oil-cleansing your face. The fact that they also save you a step is just a bonus.
To get the most out of your conditioner, you should really let it sit on your hair for about five minutes. So, use that time to speed through everything else: Scrub your body down, shave your legs, and wash your face.
You'll get a closer shave and moisturise your skin enough that you can forego lotion afterward. (Those minutes after your shower are still just as precious.)
