I had terrible skin throughout my early 20s and now that it’s clear I revel in not wearing foundation. I wear a tinted sunscreen everyday—La Roche Posay Anthelios 50 Tinted Moisturizer ($34)—for both protection and to even out my skin tone, but still look makeup-free. It leaves my skin so radiant, in fact, that even if I’m re-doing my makeup at night, I’ll start with that all over again—an inappropriate use of SPF 50.
Luckily, I recently got my hands on Cargo’s HD Picture Perfect CC Cream ($39), a formula that comes out white, warms up between your hands, and goes on so smoothly you’d swear there’s nothing on your skin if it didn’t look so airbrushed. The colour-adapting formula includes vitamins c and e, with green tea and chamomile to hydrate the skin while colour correcting. And, if you don’t live in LA and walk to work and spend weekends at the beach—meaning you don’t need SPF 50—Cargo’s boasts a perfectly acceptable broad-spectrum SPF 20. I’ve sat out the makeup-meets-skincare trend when it comes to my own routine, but when something works this well, I’m happy to jump on the alphabet bandwagon.
