Oh, Gigi. There we were happily minding our own business, liking our own hair, when you stepped out at the MTV Movie Awards and changed everything. The supermodel debuted a new blunt fringe in L.A. on Saturday, and it’s made us really want to cut a Brigitte Bardot–esque, brow-skimming fringe too.
As well as the full fringe, Gigi also showcased some definite feathering around the face (now that’s a hairdressing term we haven’t thought about since the ‘90s). While face-framing feathering may be a retro step too far, we are quite taken by Gigi’s new haircut. Especially as it’s a quick and easy way to transform your look without touching the length. Plus, as Dakota Johnson proves, a fringe can be incredibly versatile. Convinced? Keep scrolling for three products every woman with a fringe needs to own.
You may only wash your hair every other day, but fringes can go awry when you’re sleeping. Fill a spray bottle with 90 percent water, 10 percent conditioner and use it to damp down a fringe so you can restyle without needing to wash all your hair.
Blast your fringe until it is 80 percent dry with your hair-dryer, then use this mini round brush to smooth and shape into place.
Need some extra grooming? Use these mini straighteners to create a super smooth and sleek finish that Gigi would be proud of.
While we would recommend you see a professional, if you're going to cut a fringe yourself don't do it before reading this handy how-to.
