>I have to admit, I’m a bit of a packaging slut. There’s just something about a sleek, clean, beautifully-designed beauty product that makes me want to get my hands on it and have my way with it immediately—and I’ll do it with a bunch of different ones, sometimes up to ten times a day. Some leave me disappointed (I never call again), while others—in much rarer cases—turn out to be just as appealing on the inside as they are on the outside. And these ones, these rare gems, are the ones I’ll court and come back to again and again.
>Such is the case with Garrett Markenson’s Reverie Milk ($42). Once you get over the impeccable design (opaque black glass and white lettering…fanning myself as I type), you’ll squeeze a few pumps into your palm, and apply it evenly all over your damp strands (I like to do it after showering—doesn’t everyone?). I recommend you breathe in deeply at this point, and let the scent of the product’s essential oils (rose, bourbon vanilla, patchouli, and sandalwood, to name a few) soothe your senses. Then, just style your hair as usual (for me, this usually means letting it air-dry, or putting it in a half-hearted braid). Amino acids, sweet almond protein, and other actives will go to work, leaving your hair feeling soft, silky, and shiny—without any heaviness. You’ll marvel at your cashmere-soft strands, and wonder how you ever lived without this product in your life. And then you’ll take it on a second date (and third, and fourth…)
