Hair Obsession: Ciara’s Double Crown Braid
Last night Ciara stepped out at the H&M show in Paris, and, while most eyes were on the clothes (naturally), we were in awe of Ciara’s double crown braid.
To re-create this look, part your hair in the centre leaving some wispy tendrils loose around your face. Section the hair at the front, and leave the rest of your hair loose at the back. Plait two Dutch braids at the front of the head down behind the ears; join them together, secure them with elastic and pin in place at the nape of the neck.
With the remaining hair at the back, brush the hair smooth and start your fishtail braid above the pinned section securing with an elastic at the end. If your hair is long enough that you have some lengths left out of your Dutch braid, plait these into the fishtail so you have one braid. Now loop it around so it sits snuggly next to the two other Dutch braids and secure with pins. If your hair is shorter, braid it into two Dutch braids and using a bundle of hair extensions that match the colour of your own hair, make a separate fishtail braid and pin on as if it were a headband.
To get that flyaway texture, mist the palms of your hands with a hairspray like VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturing Spray (£3) and gently rub them over the braids to draw out those baby hairs. Finish with Mizani Humidity Resistant Mist (£11).
