It was way back on a cold, dark and rainy February day that I slipped backstage at the Burberry show to watch makeup artist Wendy Rowe work her magic before the catwalk show kicked off. Burberry always gives good beauty (and trenches and accessories), but this season was another level. Rowe was clutching a small pot of glitter that she was gently dabbing around models’ eyes and cheekbones, and suddenly glitter was being propelled from festival fun to a serious makeup bag contender.
The Burberry Beauty Shimmer Dusts (£20), which come in either Gold Glitter No.01 or Black Glitter No.02, have just launched, further proving that with summer and festival season almost over these glitters can be worn for everyday life—yes, really. I recommend using the black glitter to add a shimmering hit of intensity to a smoky eye come autumn, while the gold will work wonders to brighten inner corners of the eyes. Tread carefully and you’ll nail sophisticated sparkle.
