Thanks to the Kid's Choice Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and a little somebody known as Karl Lagerfeld (because when he throws a party, the stars show up), our favourite celebrities were out in abundance this week. From a crazy-cool elaborate updo on Rihanna, to side-swept styles on Beyoncé and Brittany Snow, their A-game looks are inspiring our next trip to the salon. Click through the gallery below to see the best beauty this week!
At an event in New York City, Beyoncé stepped out with some of the prettiest side-swept cascading blonde mermaid waves we've ever seen. And suddenly, we want extensions.
For the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Brittany Snow made us question our existing Coachella braid plans with a fat, textured, messy side braid paired with a fresh watermelon-red lip and mascara on both top and bottom lashes.
At the Chanel Métiers d’Art collection show at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, Dakota Johnson opted for messy texture and a pretty rosy pink pout courtesy of makeup artist Kate Lee. Lee used Chanel Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in Etienne, which she applied with fingers for a softer look.
For Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, Iggy Azalea wore a shiny, bouncy, voluminous high pony that J.Lo would have envied, with one strand wrapped around the base to pull it all together. To balance the statement style, she kept the rest of her look minimal with a swipe of barely-there copper metallic shadow and a glossy pink lip. We want to copy this pretty look stat.
At the premiere of Furious 7, Jordana Brewster (who stars in the film) looked stunning with a retro-inspired half-up, half-down hairstyle we're obsessing over. Luckily we got all the information on how to create it from the hair stylist behind it, Kylee Heath. Heath used Matrix Style Link Volume Booster throughout the roots and ends before creating a center part and blow drying hair with a round brush. Once hair was dry, she sectioned out the crown of the head and applied Matrix Style Link Height Riser, teasing the roots for volume. Then she added texture to the hair with a two-inch curling iron, spraying each section lightly with Matrix Style Link Texture Builder. "The point was to have a tousled sexy texture—not straight but not curly," Heath said. She finished the look with Matrix Style Link Style Fixer for hold and shine. Swoon!
At the Kid's Choice Awards, Kaley Cuoco wore a classic makeup combo courtesy of her makeup artist Jamie Greenberg, who applied crisp liquid liner and a glossy pink lip. Still, the actress kept the look edgy with a side-slicked, wet-look 'do.
We're loving everything about Kerry Washington's textured side-swept, pulled-back hair, lush lashes, and high-shine red lips.
Nicola Peltz's look at the Chanel Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art Collection event in New York City pretty much epitomized the trending style we covered earlier this week: center parts and tousled waves, and she nailed it. With subtle winged liner and a classic nude lip, she let that killer hair take center stage.
For the Kid's Choice Awards (which boyfriend Nick Jonas hosted), former Miss America Olivia Culpo reminded us why center-parted, pulled-back hair with a strong brow and matte lip is a winning combination.
Rihanna can basically do anything and pull it off, but we're particularly smitten with her blunt baby bangs and messy updo, highlighted by a heavily-lined cat-eye and perfect brows.
Sarah Hyland looked gorgeous with her lob styled in swept-over texture, and a bubble-gum-pink lip.
Which of these looks will you try out this weekend? Tell us in the comments!
