Another week, another gaggle of celebs looking gorgeous. From tousled texture to retro waves, the beauties of Hollywood supplied us with major hair
envy inspiration this week (the makeup wasn’t half bad either).

Reese Witherspoon channeled old Hollywood glamour at the New York City premiere of Gone Girl. Hairstylist Renato Campora wanted to complement her elegant red dress, and show off her killer earrings (hence the deep side part). He parted the hair while wet, adding L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse ($5) to give Whitherspoon’s hair more body. Then, Renato blow-dried the hair using a round brush for volume, and created flowing waves with a 1 1/2-inch curling iron.
Rose Byrne is sporting one of the bluntest bobs we’ve ever seen, and we love it. Hairstylist Blake Burkholder was behind Byrne’s sleek, shiny style for the opening night party for You Can’t Take It With You. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo gave her the smoldering earth-toned smoky eyes and rose lips to go with it.
“To complement Jessica's black dress, I focused her look around black eyeliner while keeping the rest of the makeup bronze and warm,” celebrity makeup artist Quinn Murphy says. Murphy used Nars’ The Multiple ($39) in Vientiane on the edges of Alba’s face to create dimension. He applied the same cream bronzer onto the center of the eyelids, blending upward and outward. “Then, I applied black gel eyeliner along the top lash line, making the line thicker on the outer edges and giving it a flick for a cat-eye effect,” Murphy says.
Hailee Steinfeld showed up to the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party with long, effortless waves. “For Hailee's look tonight we kept it undone and tousled," hairstylist Christine Symonds says. To create the look, Symonds used two different-sized curling irons. “I took a 1-inch and a 1 1/2-inch iron and curled her entire head of hair, switching off each time with a different size. Then, I sprinkled dry texturizing powder in her roots and lifted with my fingers.”
Selita Ebanks went for pure glamour at an event in New York City this week. The makeup was flawless. (Burgundy lips paired with emerald liner and gold shadow? We’re on board.) But those big, voluminous curls (courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Lacy Redway) really pulled it all together.
The stunningly beautiful Annabelle Wallis chose to go soft and romantic for the Los Angeles premiere of Annabelle. “I kept her makeup really classic with a little sexiness to it,” makeup artist Georgie Eisdell says. “First I applied Tom Ford Traceless Foundation ($80) to even out the skin and create a flawless base to work with. Next, I applied Chanel Le Blush Crème de Chanel ($38) in Chamade very lightly on the cheekbones, blending back to the ear for a natural flush.” To give warmth to the eyes, Eisdell used Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow ($22) in Stone and Cocoa. “I blended them together into the crease of her eye and slightly above to create a softness to the look, bringing very little under the eye to finish it off.”
A platinum blonde Dianna Agron attended the Global Citizen Festival showing off glowing skin, pink lips, and a healthy dose of winged eyeliner—all the handiwork of celebrity makeup artist Brigitte Reiss-Andersen.
