Thanks to the Time 100 Gala held in New York City, a host of celebrities stepped out in spring’s coolest hair and beauty trends. From Emma Watson’s romantic, messy updo to Kim Kardashian’s sleek, low pony, we have hairspiration for days! Keep scrolling to see the best looks this week had to offer.
As we reported earlier this week, celebs have been embracing a cooler, updated interpretation of the bouffant, and Emma Watson’s take proved the trend’s staying power. We love everything about her deconstructed version, the handiwork of hair stylist Ben Skervin. Meanwhile makeup artist Dotti gave Watson impossibly perfect up-groomed brows with a matte red lip and illuminated skin, using all Dior products.
Allison Williams looked classically beautiful for an event in New York City, with a smooth blowout thanks to hair stylist Rebekah Forecast, along with a copper smoky eye and glossy nude lip.
With her lob styled sleek and straight, Rose Byrne looked as fresh as, well, a spring rose thanks to makeup artist Ana Marie, who used all Nars products. To get skin extra even and glowy, she started with the line’s All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation ($48), and then blended a mix of the Orgasm ($30) and Contour Blush ($42) shades onto the apples of the cheek. For Byrne’s icy lilac lid, Marie used Nars’ Violetta Duo Compact ($35) and then smudged the Mambo Brown Pencil ($23) into her upper and lower lash line to create a soft smokey eye. The stunning pop of color on her lips is Nars’ Satin Lip Color in Yu ($26).
For the world premiere of Franny during the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, Dakota Fanning stood out with a fiery orange-red lip that contrasted with her milky skin and blonde hair beautifully.
Joan Smalls showed up to the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival Chanel artists dinner in New York City with a half-up center-parted hairdo courtesy of Byrdie favorite Jennifer Yepez. In contrast to its smooth upper half, the princess style featured mermaid-worthy beach waves on the bottom. Per usual, her brows and cheekbones were on point (literally, in both cases).
Kate Mara looked polished and sultry simultaneously, with a simple updo, straight-across brows, shimmery gold shadow and extra-defined and flirty lashes.
We heard from several top stylists in our spring hairstyle trend report that low ponytails were going to be huge for spring and summer, so leave it to Kim Kardashian to be on top of the trend curve. The beauty icon showed up to the Time 100 Gala with a sleek low pony perfected by Michael Silva, and makeup done by her main man, Mario Dedivanovic. Silva prepped her hair using Shu Uemura Ample Angora Mousse ($38) all over, then added some Kerastase Touche Finale Serum ($28) on the ends and throughout. Next he blow dried section by section and flat ironed it, before securing into the low pony.
To get the insanely gorgeous gold shadow on her lower lash line, Dedivanovic applied Nars Dual Intensity Blush in Jubilation ($45) with a wet brush to intensify the gold. He filled her brows in using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown ($21) and set them with the Brow Gel ($22). To enhance her glow, he swiped Tom Ford Blush in Love Lust ($57) along the apples of the cheeks, and Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow ($68) along the cheek bones and bridge of the nose to highlight.
