Makeup artist Pati Dubroff said the showstopping yellow Dior gown Charlize Theron wore at the premiere for Mad Max: Fury Road “screamed summer,” and Dubroff wanted the makeup to reflect that. She used Dior’s new Diorskin Nude Tan Tie Dye Blush ($57) in Coral Sunset to add a bronzy pop of color to Theron’s cheeks, then added the brand’s Rouge Brillant Lipgloss ($35) in Victoire—a “vibrant, sheer tangerine-peach that stands on its own but didn’t compete with the color of the dress”—on her lips.
At the same premiere, Julianne Moore proved that matching your lipstick to your dress is definitely a “do.” The ruby red in question? L’Oréal Paris’s Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor ($13) in Captivated by Cerise.
Kebede’s skin was positively glowing at the same premiere, thanks to L’Oréal’s Visible Lift Color Lift Blush ($13) in Coral Lift.
Makeup artist Nick Barose surprised everyone by giving Kravitz a sultry bronze smoky eye using Dior's 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($62) in Montaigne, then adding two dots—beauty marks?—below each of her irises. For her shimmery, gold-tinted lips, he added a swipe of the brand's Dior Addict Lip Maximizer ($33) in Beige Sunset. Filed under: must copy immediately.
The German supermodel stunned on the red carpet for La Tête Haute with a super-sultry smoky eye and pinkish-nude lip, which would be L’Oréal Paris’s Colour Riche Glossy Balm ($8) in Ginger Candy.
At the same premiere, fellow model Karlie Kloss went for arched, defined brows—created with L’Oréal Paris’s Brow Stylist Plumper ($9) in Light to Medium—and a peachy-pink glow.
Meanwhile, Naomi Watts opted for a chic coifed updo and natural rose lip—that would be L’Oréal Paris’s Colour Riche Lip Balm ($8) in Tender Me Mauve.
Portman was the picture of classic, timeless beauty at the same premiere, with a regal red Dior gown and soft, smoky shadow. “We decided to veer away from matching tones and opted for a feminine, smoky lined eye with peachy hues on the cheeks and lips,” makeup artist Jo Baker says. She used Dior’s Eye Reviver Illuminating Neutrals Eye Palette ($62) to add a wash of soft taupe colors all over Portman’s lid.
We can always count on Lupita to turn heads with a bold red carpet beauty look—and obviously, she wouldn’t disappoint us at Cannes. Makeup artist Nick Barose mixed Lancôme’s Color Design Lipcolor ($23) in Hit List and the brand’s new Shine Lover Lipstick ($25) in Palpitants to create a glossy fuchsia pout for the Lancôme beauty ambassador.
A bright, glossy red lip with a daringly low pink dress? If anyone could make us want to try this combination immediately, it’s Miranda Kerr.
>Emma Stone attended the Irrational Man premiere with a soft and romantic makeup look—the perfect complement to her black lace gown. “I played with all softer shades, using grays and vanillas on her eyes and pale ballerina pinks on her lips and cheeks,” makeup artist Rachel Goodwin says. She used Revlon’s Ultra HD Lipstick ($9) in HD Magnolia to add a slight touch of pink to Stone’s lips.
