The Secret to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Glow
A single shimmery product—like highlighter, eye shadow, or lip gloss—can be easy to pull off, but if you want to create a glowing look with a handful of sparkly cosmetics, you’ll probably need some direction. We suggest taking a cue from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who—with the help of makeup artist Lauren Andersen—did shimmer right this weekend.
To prep Huntington-Whiteley for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s 2013 Art +Film Gala this week, Andersen started with a dewy foundation and concealer, then dusted Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powder ($45) in Radiant Light on the top of the model’s cheekbones. (Lightly dust it over your collarbone and shoulders, too!) For a bright-eyed effect, Andersen used Avon’s True Colour Eye Shadow Quad ($6) in Chocolate Sensation, applying the shimmery champagne colour in the inner corners of Huntington-Whiteley’s eyes and below her bottom lashline. The trick is to keep the pale shade in the inner corners, so Andersen used the deeper hues for the outside of the model’s lids.
To keep Huntington-Whiteley’s lips glossy, but not glittery, Andersen used Avon’s Ultra Glazewear ($6) in Tickled Pink. She kept everything else subtle, which included Nars’ Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner ($24) in Via De’Martelli smudged on the model’s top lashline, and a few coats of Avon’s Mega Effects Mascara ($10) in Black. You glow, girl.
