Reviewed: R+Co’s Analogue Cleansing Foam Conditioner

As beauty editors, we get bombarded with a ton of new products every day (we know—tough life). Reviewed is a series where we report on some of the best products we’ve tried. Whether it’s a drugstore lipstick that lasted all day or a hand cream that saved us this winter, you’ll find all of our favourites in this column. Enjoy

Let me start with the obvious talking point here: foam. R+Co’s Cleansing Foam Conditioner ($29) is in a can and comes out like mousse—in a light, beautiful little puff. It feels like shaving cream but smells like the most divine hair product you can imagine (I think it kind of smells like candy). Basically it’s the most fun I’ve had washing my hair in a while. I’ve been off of the shampoo train for some time and tried a few different cleansing creams, but this one has replaced them all—partly because of the scent, but mainly because it cleans really well. When you cut out shampoo, you realise how much of the work it did for you. With cleansing creams, you learn to really work the product in—and I learned this lesson the hard way. When you rush your hair wash, it shows—and by that I mean it doesn’t look like you washed your hair at all. With R+Co’s foam, however, I haven’t run into this problem. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and clean. But you do have to use a fair amount. The instructions suggest “a small amount” (whatever that means), but I use two to three decently sized dollops to get my whole head properly clean.
