Reviewed: A Skincare Line for Girls that Grown-Ups Will Want to Steal

Faith Xue

As beauty editors, we get bombarded with a ton of new products every day (we know—tough life). “Reviewed” is a new series where we report on some of the best products we’ve tried. Whether it’s a drugstore lipstick that lasted all day, or a hand cream that saved us this winter, you’ll find all of our favourites in this column. Enjoy!

I was lucky enough to have a mother who forced—or rather, firmly eschewed—me on a rigid skin regimen at a young age. But that doesn’t mean I enjoyed it.  Why spend time washing, toning, and moisturizing, when there were notes to pass and cooties to catch, er, avoid?  But if P.R.E.P. Skincare had existed back then, maybe I would have been more inclined. This new line of skincare products is targeted towards young girls and doesn’t promise anything except to gently cleanse, moisturize, and protect—all you really need when your skin is naturally plump and glowy, obviously. The line, which so far consists of a Cleanser ($13), Face + Body Lotion with SPF 30 ($19), and Lip Gloss ($8), is simple and elegant—oh, and did I mention I’ve been using it for the past week straight? #Notashamed. The cleanser smells like candy and gets most of my makeup off at night, the sunscreen is light as a feather and, more importantly, doesn’t break me out, and the lip gloss—ok, the lip gloss is slightly juvenile, yes, but it isn’t sticky and has SPF 15 so I keep it by my desk anyway. Pick this line up for your little sister (or cousin, or friend’s little sister) on her next birthday—then use it behind her back when she isn’t looking.
