7 Crazy Uses for Hairspray You Never Knew
It’s the iconic beauty essential that no girl can live without. But whilst we already know that hairspray is a brilliant multitasking hair product, did you know that it’s capable of more than putting the up in updo, setting glam waves, creating messy texture and lifting up your roots? According to the pros, hairspray is your new best friend if you’re prone to beauty spillages. Lipstick, nail polish, hair colourant—you name it, hairspray removes it. “Spray it directly onto the area straight away,” advises James Galvin, Kerastase ambassador. “This will help get rid of it when you wash the fabric later on.”
“Spray it onto your hair pins to stop them sliding out of an updo,” says Nicole Iroh, Headmasters art team member.
Quickly spritz the top and bottom of the tear with hairspray. It’s much more effective (and less sticky) than the old trick of using clear nail polish. Or get ahead of the game by spraying a new pair of tights all over, to stop ladders occurring in the first place. “This also stops delicate fabrics from sticking to them,” explains Nicole.
“When drying flowers, take them out of the water, spray hairspray onto them and let them dry,” Nicole says. “This will make them look better and stop them from falling apart.” Who knew?! You can also spritz a little underneath the petals and leaves of fresh flowers to prolong their life.
Spritz some hairspray onto some kitchen towel or a cloth to pick up any unwanted fluff or animal hair off sofas and clothes. Yes it really does work—try it.
