3 Game-Changing Makeup Tricks We Learned Backstage at Michael Kors
While we’ll probably never be over no-makeup makeup, it is refreshing to see a new take on every busy girl’s favourite beauty trend—especially when that new take comes from makeup genius Dick Page. He was leading up the makeup team backstage at Michael Kors F/W 15, and kind enough to let us in on a few tricks of the trade.

Brush Your Brows Down
To get a full brow that looks natural—never overdone—Page brushed the brows down towards the eye, filled them in, then brushed them back into place. This trick helps you stay true to your natural shape.
Apply Your Blush in the Shape of a Chevron
For blush that “doesn’t look like blush,” Page used a brush to apply cream blush in a “chevron shape,” first brushing down towards the center of the cheek, then back up at towards the temples. That V-shape applied right to the apples of the cheeks gives a natural flush. Don’t forget to smile when you try it—Page says smiling helps you hit the apples of cheeks in the right spot.
Create No-Eyeliner Eyeliner
Page wanted to define the eyes without the look of heavy eye makeup. The solution? Moisturizer. First, he applied brown cream eyeliner in short strokes starting at the outer corner and working in. Page says the motion you use is important—brush in and down towards you eye to catch all of your lashes, getting you as close to the lash line as possible. Then, he used a soft, clean blending brush with a dab of moisturizer on it to diffuse the color even more. “What remains is a trace of the liner in the lash line,” Page says.
