How-To: Lea Michele's Romantic Side-Swept Hair

Mary Peffer

Lea Michele had some pretty gorgeous hair at the amfAR gala Thursday night. So beautiful that we decided to contact her stylist, Nikki Lee, co-owner of Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood, to find out how we can all copy the side-swept cascading waves for our next big night out. Lee also happens to be Emma Roberts’s longtime Hollywood hairstylist. We wonder if the castmate besties exchanged beauty tips on the set of Scream Queens. Oh, to be a fly on the wall during that convo!

Keep scrolling to learn how to conquer Lea Michele’s effortless waves in three easy steps!

Step 1

Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer ($195)

Start by creating a deep side part, and blow out your hair to create as much volume as possible.

Separate your hair into big sections and set each section of the hair with a 1- and 1/4-inch curling iron. Pin to keep the curls in place as they cool. Note: It's best if the hair is set all going in the same direction.

Let the hair cool before removing the pins. Brush the curls out gently: The key to this look is to brush the waves together but not sculpt it too much. If it's too sculpted, it won't feel as effortless!
