Lorna Jane's 5-Minute Recipe for a Flatter Stomach

Whether you're on a boat or at a barbecue this weekend, knowledge of a juice recipe packed with foods that taste great and reduce bloating falls under the "need to know now" category. Activewear designer and author Lorna Jane Clarkson shared just that, and (whoop!) it only takes five minutes to make. 
 
The recipe is from Clarkson's coffee table book, Inspired ($60), and combines cruciferous greens and fruits she says will flatten the stomach. According to Clarkson, "Leafy greens are low in calories and high in nutrients. Spinach is high in fibre, which helps you feel full and energised for your day. Pears are also packed with fibre and ultra-hydrating, due to their high water content. The combination of fibre and hydration is a recipe for a flat tummy." 

As if that's not enough of an incentive, the elixir is good for skin, too. Clarkson shared, "Spinach is beneficial for maintaining healthy skin and hair, thanks to its ability to neutralise free radicals and is a great source of calcium that aids in muscle contraction. This recipe is super hydrating, which will keep your skin looking dewy and fresh." 

Those are some big promises from one simple drink. But it does sound delicious, so we'll totally give it a go, though we still trust aloe vera first and foremost to deliver an enviable skin glow. Keep scrolling for the recipe, and let us know if you notice a less bloated belly after you try it. 

Rescue Remedy

Serves: 1 

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup baby spinach leaves 
1 whole lime, peeled
1 cup ice
2 sprigs mint
1 medium pear cored

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Mix for 1 minute and drink.
