Mental health has long been a topic drenched in stigma. Growing up, we were taught through societal norms, cultural ramifications and misused language not to talk about it. "She's crazy," just about every person has said about a woman at some point or another. Other hurtful words for mental illness were tossed around school playgrounds with ease and calm cruelty.

Since then, more and more women in the spotlight have decided to use their platform to break down the secretive nature surrounding mental health. It's real, it's happening and it's not something to be ashamed of. The more we talk about it, the less scared and alone we feel and the easier it is to seek help.
