We know that when it comes to catwalk beauty trends, they can seem pretty unattainable. We also know that when it comes to beauty inspiration, you (just like we do) love to look to Instagram for inspiration (not necessarily the catwalks). So we thought why not ask an Instagram star to re-create her three favourite LFW looks from the shows that happened last weekend, to show you how to wear them in real life? We called on Cara Santana, actress, social star (she has almost 700K followers on Instagram) and co-founder of The Glam App to take on the challenge.

Santana founded The Glam App with makeup artist Joey Maalouf over in Los Angeles, and it’s now available across the U.S. and here in London—it’s a bit like Uber for everything from blow-dries and manis to pre-party makeup services. On Santana, Maalouf re-created the Topshop bold lip, Bora Aksu’s pretty pink eyes and the boy brow at Peter Pilotto. Keep scrolling to see the looks and find out how to re-create them yourself, along with whether Santana thinks they really are wearable off the catwalks…

BYRDIE UK: What products were used for the hair and makeup?

JOEY MAALOUF: For this look, I used Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (£40) slightly mixed with La Mer Moisturiser (£115). I added Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Almond (£60)to the under-eye and used Stila Convertible Colour in Peony (£16) to lightly contour the cheeks. To define the shape of the eyebrows, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil (£18).

BYRDIE UK: Why do you love the look?

CARA SANTANA: I love a strong brow. You can never go wrong with this look. To me, a bold brow is the most important feature. Everyone knows I am obsessed with my brows.

BYRDIE UK: When/where would you wear this look?

CS: This look is universally wearable day or night. To punch it up for a night out, I would add a bold lip colour. For day, it needs nothing else.

BYRDIE UK: How do you feel wearing it? Is it out of your comfort zone?

CS: This is pretty much my go-to look, so I feel completely in my comfort zone.

BYRDIE UK: Any tips for re-creating this look?

JM: I also like L'Oréal Elnett Unfragranced Extra Strength Hair Spray (£4) to hold the eyebrows up all day. To do this, I use a clean mascara brush to comb and gently brush the eyebrows up. I always advise The Glam App stylists to do the same trick; they get a lot of requests for a bold brow.

BYRDIE UK: What products were used for the hair and makeup?

JM: I used Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Ethos (£21) and smudged it around the entire eye line and bottom lash-line. I then used Charlotte Tilbury Rock ’n’ Kohl Iconic Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in Eye Cheat (£19) on the inside of the waterline. To make the look more wearable, I applied mascara to the bottom lashes.

BYRDIE UK: Why do you love the look?

CS: I like the monochromatic vibe of this look. It’s fresh and dewy, which is incredibly youthful. I feel like I am taking a risk and having fun all at once.

BYRDIE UK: When/where would you wear this look?

CS: I would wear this on a fun girls’ night out!

BYRDIE UK: How do you feel wearing it? Is it out of your comfort zone?

CS: Pink really terrifies me, and I tend to shy away from it. However, Joey has done such a seamless job finding a happy medium for me in this hue that I could get used to it.

BYRDIE UK: Any tips?

JM: Using a pink cream blush colour for the eyes, lip and cheeks is a really quick way to get this look.

BYRDIE UK: What products were used for the hair and makeup?

JM: For this look, I used Ardell Wispies Cluster Lashes in #600 (£6), and for the lip, I used Dior Rouge Matte Lipstick in 999 Matte (£27).

BYRDIE UK: Why do you love the look?

CS: I love this look because of its simplicity: Lashes and red lips make me feel so glam. It reminds me of our Statement Lip look on The Glam App—subtle eyes with lips that pop! We love this trend.

BYRDIE UK: When/where would you wear this look?

CS: I would wear this to an evening event, on a date night—frankly, you can’t go wrong here.

BYRDIE UK: How do you feel wearing it? Is it out of your comfort zone?

CS: I feel sexy and powerful.

BYRDIE UK: Any tips?

JM: Lashes are really good way to give any look a pop.
