Rihanna Channels '90s Vibes (Plus, More Celeb Beauty!)
From Rihanna’s super-straight tresses to Kat Dennings’ big, bouncy curls, celebrities this week did not disappoint in the hair department. Makeup highlights include hot pink lips, navy blue smoky eyes, and so much more. Click through to see the best of the best in celeb beauty!

Camila Alves supported hubby Matthew McConaughey at the American Cinematheque Awards looking bronzed and beautiful. “Camila’s skin is so naturally warm and glowing, so I used the new [Dolce&Gabbana] Collector’s Edition Bronzer to give the right dimension to accentuate her cheekbones, and added depth to her eyes with warm plum shades,” Dolce&Gabbana makeup artist Christian McCulloch says. McCulloch concentrated Dolce&Gabbana’s Perfect Mono Cream Eye Colour ($36) in Dahlia right at the lash line to soften the black eyeliner, while defining the eyes.
Leave it to Rihanna to bring back straighteners and shiny lip gloss. The star embraced the beauty of the late '90s this week, rocking center-parted straight hair and glossy pink lips at an event for her new fragrance.
“We decided on a high-shine wave set to complement Kat's gown," celebrity hairstylist Gregory Russell says. Russell used a one-inch curling iron to curl the actress’ tresses, pinning each curl in place to cool. “After her hair had cooled, starting at the nape, I softly brushed out each section with a boar-bristle brush. Once brushed all the way through, I sprayed Serge Normant’s Meta Sheer Dry Finishing Oil ($24) through the lengths, and brushed again until I reached my desired shape.”
Beth Behrs also sported glossy curls at a gala in Los Angeles this week. But it was her monochromatic mauve makeup that really made the look.
There are hot pink lips and then there are Abigail Spencer’s hot pink lips. Her nearly-neon pout made us forget all about rose lipstick and every other fall shade we’ve been lusting after.
"Rosie wanted a simple look for a casual event, so I focused on a shimmering eye," celebrity makeup artist Lisa Storey says. "I began by dusting the lighter shade of the Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad ($79) in Seductive Rose over the entire eyelid, followed by the darker shade on the edge of the eye, top, and bottom.” A little illuminating powder and rosy pink blush brought it all together.
Celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee calls this eye look she created for Anne Hathaway an “elongated smoky eye.” Lee used Chanel’s Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil ($29) in Marine to define Hathaway’s eyes, extending the line and blending it upwards into the outer corner. With that navy blue eyeliner as a base, she then built up the intensity using a dark gunmetal eye shadow. As for the flawless base, Lee used a beautyblender ($20) to stipple Chanel's Perfection Lumiere Foundation ($57) all over Hathaway's skin, then used the round base to apply Laura Mercier's Crème Cheek Cheek Colour ($24) in Praline to the apples of her cheeks.
Jordana Brewster’s flawless skin, minimal eye makeup, and deep berry lips are the perfect fall beauty look. And her slicked-back bun showcases it all beautifully.
