From Kate Bosworth's Braids to Jessica Alba's Glow-- See The Best Beauty Looks of the Week
From the 2014 ESPY Awards to launch parties and movie premieres, this week was full of jaw-dropping beauty looks. The biggest hair trend? Mind-boggling braids. For makeup, it was all about perfectly placed highlighter and a warm, shimmery glow (we’re looking at you, Chrissy Teigen). Oh, and there may have been a pop of pink lipstick in there too…

There’s highlighter, and then there’s highlighter. Makeup artist (and Byrdie’s resident makeup guru) Lauren Andersen used Lorac’s Baked Bronzer ($32) to give Teigen a bronzy glow at the ESPYs, then finished with Avon’s Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick ($9) in Caramel Comfort for the perfect nude lip.
Yet another bronze beauty at the ESPYS, Alba flaunted a perfectly blended smoky eye and a matte, contoured version of Teigen’s just-arrived-from-the-beach glow. Andersen was responsible for Alba’s look, using Avon’s Eye Dimensions Eye Shadow ($9) in Khaki Chic on her lid, and then lined her eyes with the brand’s Kohl Eye Liner ($7) in True Black for extra dimension. To finish, she gave Alba’s lips a touch of color with Kevin Aucoin’s The Lip Gloss ($30) in Vesuvian.
Is there anything Kate Bosworth can’t do? Other than possessing a flawless complexion and perfect bone structure, her braided updo at the launch party for her new app, Style Thief, may have just blown our minds. “Kate’s braided hairstyle was intricate and romantic to match the scenery at the Chateau Marmont and her gorgeous RED Valentino dress,” hairstylist Bridget Brager says. She used Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray ($29) to add texture and thickness before braiding, then finished with L’Oreal’s Elnett Hairspray ($15) to set everything in place.
Our favorite funny girl rocked smoky shadow and pale pink lips during Showtime’s Masters of Sex press tour, thanks to makeup artist Jamie Greenberg.
Greene stunned with lush lashes and a glossy lip at the New York premiere of Wish I Was Here, thanks to makeup artist Beau Nelson.
A dark, vampy lip is never out of season, as Kate Hudson proves at the Wish I Was Here premiere. We love how makeup artist Leslie Lopez added just a touch of barely-there sparkle on her lids to balance out the look.
