Replace Your Bobby Pins With a Needle and Thread

Victoria Hoff

For those who aren't as on board with don't-care hair as we are, consider this your antidote: Models at the Alexander McQueen show yesterday walked the runway with their hair intricately sewn into an updo.

Stylist Guido Palau skipped bobby pins, clips, and even hair spray to get this ’do, using only Redken’s Windblown ($22) to add some texture. He then gathered small sections of the hair and secured them with just a needle and thread. The result? A unique, stunning tapestry of a style that has us digging up our sewing kit.

Would you ever try replacing bobby pins with a needle and thread? Tell us what you think of the style in the comments below!
